It is with great sadness that we lament the passing of one of our founding pastors, Rev. Carl Miehlke.  Pastor Carl Miehlke died on April 10, 2017, and he was buried in Graceland Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As was his wish, a memorial service, which beautifully celebrated his life and ministry, was held April 30, 2017, in Arlington Hts. at Orchard Evangelical Free Church.

Reverend Miehlke was a graduate of the North Park Seminary and was ordained in 1976. He started his ministry at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Chicago.  He then served at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Morton Grove, Illinois. After St. Luke's he served at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Arlington Heights, and then at St. Thomas UCC in Chicago and finally at Faith United Church of Christ in Chicago.

St. Thomas UCC and Tabor UCC were the final partner churches in the merger which created Faith United Church of Christ. Pastor Carl played an integral role in the birth of Faith Church and he led us through the formative process of organizing ourselves as a church body and in our preparing to call our first full-time pastor in the years prior to his retirement from the ministry.

Rest in Peace Pastor will forever be missed here but not in heaven.

January 9, 1960 - June 27, 2017

Laura, with her husband Steve, was a member of the original congregation of Faith Church at its birth.  Her membership continued until her death. Laura was always an active participant in worship and service to our church family in countless ways during her church membership.  Laura served on the Hospitality Team for many years, as well as the Worship Team.  She also was a frequent member and an active member of the Board, our leadership team, for several terms.  Laura also served as an officer of the church as Secretary on the Board.

Laura was a dear friend to many and a true asset of our church family.

She will be truly missed. God Bless you Laura and rest in God's peace.
